What would be the easiest language to learn?

I speak two languages; Albanian and English. Albanian is kind of like Russian, German French. But that is just my opinion. My parents want me to learn Spanish and I do speak some. On a scal of 1-10 with ten being fluency i am probably a 1.9. What language would bethe easiest to learn for me? The most practical or useful? How long would they take? Also, what are some tips for learning Spanish and some good sources and how much time to reach like a 7-8 scale?

### TO THE ANSWERERS ####

I believe the asker is comparing the LEARNING DIFFICULTY of Albanian to Russian, German, and French; the asker isn’t implying that there’s any mutual intelligibility between the Albanian and Russian languages.

### TO THE ASKER ###

Spanish and Italian are simple enough for English and Albanian speakers.

Should I learn the English Cursive before I start to learn the Cyrillic alphabet?

Also, would I have to learn both block and cursive Russian? Also, do other languages with the latin alphabet write in cursive?

You need to learn Russian cursive if you want to be able to read handwritten Russian.
On the other hand, although cursive is the standard method of handwriting in Russia, consider that most communications are done electronically now-days, so learning to write in cursive is up to you. Everyone will still be able to understand if you write in block letters, and you can pick up on reading Russian cursive without much effort.

P.S. If you decide to take up Russian cursive and feel that starting out in English will be easier, go for it. The styles of cursive are identical.

How to learn to play guitar quickly and easily while having fun?

I have wanted to play the guitar all my life. My parents got me a guitar a couple years ago, and some books. I have tried maybe three different forms of lessons, all start off at different places. Where is the best place to start when learning to play? Also, got some money now, any advice on some good software or book (idiot proof) to teach me how to play? I really do want to learn this, I’m just kinda overwhelmed. Any other advice welcome please.

Thanks!

Everyone has given you great advice, but I’d like to add one very important aspect that often gets ignored…

Play well with others!

You will improve 10 times as fast playing and practicing with another, then you will sitting at home in your room alone.

Try to find someone who’s a better guitarist, if they can put up with you, and get together to sing songs, write music..etc..at least once a week.

It’s also very important that you FORCE yourself to sit down everyday with the express purpose of practicing.

Some days you may not feel up to it, but if you force yourself..if only for 15 minutes a day, you’ll find the time stretching into an hour or more.

Learn a minimum of 3-4 different ways to play each chord. This will involve partial or whole bar chords up and down the neck, but will give you a great understanding of the fret board.

For example, if someone is playing the standard G chord 3-2-0-0-0-3 realize that you can play a little 3 string G chord up at the 7th fret, that’s shaped like the normal D chord
x-x-x-7-8-7

I know this sounds boring, but learn the Pentatonic Blues scale, and finally…find someway to record yourself…this is an invaluable tool for hearing areas of your playing that need more work.

Best of luck..guitarist of over 40 years

Is it possible to learn to draw, or is it a talent that you are born with?

I naturally have no artistic ability, but I would like to learn to draw basic sketches that look halfway decent. Is there a way I could learn to draw? If so, what resources will help me learn to draw better?

It is my experience that talent makes the learning process easier. Nobody is born with an innate ability to draw (or act, sing, or write for that matter), though talent expedites learning. The most important trait, however, is persistence. Anybody who is not developmentally disabled can learn anything, if you are willing to invest serious time and effort. I have no talent for drawing, but I have gotten to be pretty good by just working at it for a long time.

I’m studying basic Italian at University this year. However, this website "http://www.ielanguages.com/italian.html" has everything I have to learn and have already learned. Read through all the different nouns, verbs, regular and irregular, pronouns, adjectives etc etc and you will get the hang of it. It is hard work to learn another language on your own.
Good luck :)

How can I quickly learn all the presidents in chronological order?

Is there a song? I know that the first president is George Washington. I would like to learn these presidents in chronological order with something that will tell me a little about each and every one of them as well. Learning the ABCs was easy. Now I would like to learn my presidents. :)

Thanks

Just like the ABCs, repetition is probably the best way. Try making your own song – that is how I learned the 10 essential amino acids. Just keep repeating them over and over, eventually they will get stuck in your brain.
Here is a list of the presidents, in chronological order:
GEORGE WASHINGTON
JOHN ADAMS
THOMAS JEFFERSON
JAMES MADISON
JAMES MONROE
JOHN QUINCY ADAMS
ANDREW JACKSON
MARTIN VAN BUREN
WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON
JOHN TYLER
JAMES K. POLK
ZACHARY TAYLOR
MILLARD FILLMORE
FRANKLIN PIERCE
JAMES BUCHANAN
ABRAHAM LINCOLN
ANDREW JOHNSON
ULYSSES S. GRANT
RUTHERFORD B. HAYES
JAMES GARFIELD
CHESTER ARTHUR
GROVER CLEVELAND
BENJAMIN HARRISON
WILLIAM MCKINLEY
THEODORE ROOSEVELT
WILLIAM HOWARD TAFT
WOODROW WILSON
WARREN HARDING
CALVIN COOLIDGE
HERBERT HOOVER
FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT
HARRY TRUMAN
DWIGHT EISENHOWER
JOHN F. KENNEDY
LYNDON JOHNSON
RICHARD NIXON
GERALD FORD
JIMMY CARTER
RONALD REAGAN
GEORGE BUSH
BILL CLINTON
GEORGE W. BUSH
BARACK OBAMA

Learned through repetition!

How can I learn to spray paint Grafitti art?

I’ve always been amazed by the street art you find across SF and other places. Some of it is really amazing and beautiful. I would like to try and learn how. Of course, I wouldn’t do it on public property. I’m only 16 and I don’t want to end up in trouble. I’m thinking I would probably use big paper or wood to spray on. Still, I cannot find where to learn how. I did a search, and all I really got was how to REMOVE the paint. Does anyone know where I can learn to do this? I promise, I won’t vandalize someone’s property.

Thanks!

The best way to learn is hands on. No one can really teach you how to paint, but people can give tips and techniques. To paint well and gain the control requires that you practice. I don’t recommend painting large paper. It will seep through. You a solid surface. I’m not insinuating that you paint a building.

When you’re 16, an under-aged minor. It’s really hard to persist in an activity that everyone will try to discourage you to do. Also it’s hard to obtain paint, and if you even hold paint it’s considered a crime. If you love art and creation, just try to stay involved with it as much as possible. There are plenty of non-profit organizations that will support you and nourish your skills.

When I was around that age. I painted wooden panels in my backyard. Later I ended up painting secluded spots far away, far from trouble. Some spots were risky. I then snuck out at night to be a little more safe and far from the risk of getting caught. At night I would paint visible spots because it was a lot different in the day time. I faced and embraced the fact that I was an addicted "bomber". You don’t even want to know how I obtained paint.

Anywhere in the area of graffiti art will invite trouble no matter how legal you’d like to keep it.

How do I learn more about accordians and how to play them?

I want to learn how to play the accordian! I don’t know anything about them so I don’t know where to start when thinking of purchasing one. Also, what is the best way to learn if I can’t find lessons? I need advice on this, please, as I know nothing about them but have a strong desire to start learning.
Guess the first step would be learning how to spell "accordion" right, ha.

Locate your local Polish church, odds are, it’s Catholic. Ask the nice young man playing the accordian any question you have! He’ll tell you everything you need to know!

I want to learn how to play the sax but I have no music background, where should I start?

When I was a kid, I’ve always wanted to learn how to play the sax but I never had the time or money back then. Now that I do have time and money, I’m thinking of studying how to play the sax at my home. But the thing is I have absolutely no music background, I don’t even know how to read notes.

Is there any website that could help me start learning? Also, is it possible to learn how to play the sax by home-study given my predicament?

The best thing to do is to start taking lessons. You’ll be a lot better off doing that considering you have no musical backround.
